For years I had 3-4 sinus infections per year. I took lots of antibiotics and eventually had two sinus operations. Taking out the packing in my nose after my first sinus surgery was one of the most painful experiences of my life. My ENT said “this is going to feel like I’m pulling your brains out of your nose”. He was right.

 

After my second operation a few years later (the first one didn’t help much, despite all the pain), I was still coming down with sinus infections.

 

I then started doing sinus cleansing. The best product for this is a sinus irrigator machine called the Sinupulse

Instead of the 3-4 sinus infections per year and all the pain and discomfort associated with those, I’ve had only 3 or 4 in the past 9 years combined. And those occurred when my body’s defenses were down, like after long trips and plane rides overseas.

I tried a neti pot before I broke down and bought a Sinuplse. I found the neti pot wasn’t very effective, and it was a mess, pouring the water out of a pot and into my nostrils got water all over the sink area and my shirts.
